Listen Up! Sounds. Impact. Issues. And How Sound affects Combat Veterans

If you have ever spent much time around a combat veteran, you know they can be jumpy. Why is that? How do those startling sounds get under the skin of veterans? Do they know it? Do they understand it’s not normal?

I interviewed a Vietnam veteran and reflected on my own experiences in combat – and put together the below audio report on the subject. Take a listen, tune in your ears, and no – don’t worry – there aren’t any startling noises in it – I wanted my veteran friends to be calm and comfortable listening to it themselves!
